Known as the Beef capital of Australia, Rockhampton is a major hub for the cattle industry in Queensland, with the Gracemere Saleyards and two meat works located in the city area. Rockhampton also has strong ties to the mining industry, being the gateway to the major coal basins situated to the west, and is only 40km from Yeppoon and the Capricorn Coast.
